I agree that 4:3 would be ideal (the more ladies, the better), but if the numbers don't work out that way there's no reason to force it. If we do what the numbers dictate it'll more fun for all and it won't spread the ladies too thin.
Regarding the "offense calls" rule: a)it's not a standard, and b)it sucks. One team has 3 girls show up, half the time they go savage, the other half only one sub. Meanwhile 5 or 6 dudes are standing around on the sideline. |

Put men in a lottery
Run a parallel league for the dudes who don't make it.
Why the cap? It's the way of the future. Actually it's the way of the past, present and future. Developing women is in the long-term interest of the community.
Why the male lottery? keeps the staleness out. A simple cap would allow older and more connected players an advantage. It would likewise discourage newly interested men, especially if they don't get picked their first season. Therefore, allow new guys (say.. <3 years of league play) a free pass. Older guys would be pooled and accepted randomly to fill the remaining spots.
Why the parallel league? it gives the men who don't make it a quality experience. |
